Accessing the Domain Name Finder Tool in eCommerce

To access the tool, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to https://www.web.com/my-account/login
  2. In your Account Manager, select Websites on the left side of the page:
    • If you have a Website plan, click on Launch Website Builder for the plan you need to manage. ​
    • If you have an eCommerce plan, click Launch for the plan you need to manage.

  3. On the left navigation menu, select Branding.

  4. Once the drop-down menu shows, click on Domain Name Finder.

  1. You should see this on your screen on the Domain Name Finder page.

  2. To start generating a variety of domain names, enter the description or the line of business that you have in the field provided. Then, click on the Generate Domains button.

  3. Once done, a list of domains will appear and indicate if they are available for purchase. If the domain name is available, it will show a Buy icon, and you can click that button to make a purchase. Domains not currently eligible for purchase will be shown as Unavailable.

Important: If the domain name you want is unavailable, click the Check for Similar Domains button to be redirected to a list of similar domains available for purchase.

4. Click on the heart icon

to bring the chosen domain name to the top of the list.

5. To show more results, click on the SHOW MORE RESULTS button.

6. Once you have chosen an available domain name, select BUY, and you will be redirected to add it to your cart and proceed with the purchase process.

7. Once done, you may be prompted to log in to your account to check out the services you've added to the cart.

8. Click Checkout to finalize the purchase.

9. After purchasing, the domain name will be successfully registered. You can find the domain name you recently purchased by going back to your Account Manager or by clicking here. On the left side menu, select the Domain Name tile.

Utilizing the Domain Name Finder Tool in the Storefront

If the tool doesn’t work in your eCommerce, you can use the one displayed in the Storefront as an alternative by following the steps below.

  1. Visit the Storefront, and you will be redirected to a different tab for the Domain Finder Tool.

  2. Once done, you can input the details in the field provided, as shown below.

  3. Click on the Generate Domains button to start searching for all the available domain names you can register.
  4. Once done, a list of domains will appear and indicate if they are available for purchase. If the domain name is available, it will show a Buy icon, and you can click that button to make a purchase. Domains not currently eligible for purchase will be shown as Unavailable.
